Here we are back for a quick up date around the Canadian Nippon training and miss quoting a training quote or two simple for the entertainment of the few.
The week after the Perm Tour seen the team climb to division 2 for the first time in the team history followed by the expected quick fall back into division 3 as expected. The team was concerned that they might score points in Fort William ITT and might force the team to switch plan that Canadian Nippon had for running the Kangaroo Tour later this month. In the end it was much closer then the team expected with training rider Andre Due claiming the dreaded 10th place in the ITT but again the team actually didn't want to score. In the end it was an unexpected run from Due and might be a nice hint towards the future?
Andre Due was/is currently two riders that the Canadian Nippon team has been focusing the training along with Abel Frint, as the team continue to build an full TT team. Which has been meet with many set backs over the past few seasons with training of riders popping early or age starting to become huge factors. Simply put too many projects compared to the desire cash and training out puts.
Shortly after the Williams ITT in which Due placed 10th the rider would complete his training and is now confirmed as maxed TT rider with a very nice overall potential. This is still without TT center training; which will see his final rating climbing. Impressive but is it going to be enough become a factor in most TT races in the future?
Abel Frint joined the team after Due and started his training slightly behind the Danish rider but his training (hopefully not a jinx) has so far being going somewhat smoothly as he did finish his TT training slightly lower then expected that might hold this rider back in the future depending on the remainder of the training completed. He is already the third best TT rider on the team only behind Due and Guillot both of whom are maxed so he is living up to the high transfer fee of $125K regardless of how the training completes over the next few weeks.
This leaves the team with a dilemma of trying to find $120K for both Due and Frints to be TT center to reach their full potentials but also who does the team train next?
Based on age one would consider that the team would be looking at training either Kirill Nizamutdinov or Roland Kilgore as they are twenty-four and twenty-five respectively.
Kirill Nizamutdinov is an hill sprinter with thoughts of having high technical riding ability that is still very rare. He isn't good enough based on the scouting reports to be an team leader or to be a true hill helper so he will be looked at as a combination team mate being used to reduce the load on Ensio Jarvinen while also providing a boost to Boris Bitao when it comes to the hill sprints as a possible weak hill helper.
Roland Kilgore was purchased due to being an interesting option for the team in as Climbing TT rider and with the extra boost of sprint could also be used as an lead out rider taking the pressure off Guillot but this riders is a very high risk for training due to almost everything needing to work out correctly during the training sessions and the team still not completely sure in the direction that they would like to train the rider if he should max early. Does the team train his TT first then climb or train him like a normal TT rider then switch to his specialist ability as climber and sprint? The problem being his TT ability alone from experience suggest that he won't be strong enough as pure TT rider so really needs to have that climbing ability should he factor in races in the future.
The team also has greater potential in two younger riders in Eelco Wel and Preyton Pavicic both TT riders in their early 20's so they are currently on the back burn when it comes to training.
Two big races coming up for the team with the TT rider tackling the TT Zyte and the sprinter will take on the Kangaroo Tour.
